Pemberton Music Fest 2009
Sadly, but probably wisely it was announced today that the Pemberton Music Fest 2009 will not be going ahead. As the organizers pointed out they needed to meet many logistical changes regarding security, garbage and transportation. They did not have the time to secure acts and revamp their plans so they decided to postpone this year's event and build on their plan to bring a bigger and better Pemberton Music Fest 2010!!! Probably a smart choice and I look forward to seeing the 2010 line up.
SXSW 2009
I couldn't find a free fancy photo for SXSW so use your imagination. For those not in the know, SXSW takes place down in Austin, Texas so bring your guns and 4 bys. But, today came the initial announcement of the first wave of confirmed bands for this years festival taking place on March 13-22. Some of the highlights are: Ra Ra Riot, Ben Harper, Primal Scream, Peter Bjorn and John, Dead Prez, Kid Sister, Killer Mike, Crystal Method, Shad and my personal favorite Buck 65. Pretty solid so far, looking forward to the usual great additions that SXSW always brings.
It is that time of year where the best festivals are announced and those we care less about are announced later. Stay tuned for updates as they happen.
